‘‘I have chosen 10 actions, or events, most of which have not been previously known, titling the entire sequence as  ‘small failures’ (petits échecs).  This is a philosophical position I wish to take at this time given the reality that these events were ultimately insignificant, perhaps even useless. This does not imply, however, that they are without meaning’’
